P6/7 picked science experiments as their reward for winning the Line - Up Challenge last week. Today, we made rain clouds in a jar which tied in well with our natural disasters topic. We used jam jars, shaving foam, water, pipettes and blue food colouring to make rain fall from a cloud. We also tried this with various food colours, making rainbows in a jar. Our second experiment was magic milk. The children added food colouring to milk to make firework patterns and then, using a cotton bud soaked in washing-up liquid, they were able to separate the colours from the milk. We had a great morning being scientists and I can't wait to see what the next Line-Up Challenge win brings!
