On Thursday 3rd March, the whole school celebrated World Book Day. P5 were treated to a visit by Derek Keilty, a talented and published author from Northern Ireland! Derek talked to the class about how he became an author and where he gets his inspiration from. He even read a section of one of his books, 'Will Gallows,' to the children and it was very exciting. This book is currently being made in to a film by Elton John's film company. It was great to have a home-grown author in our school and we found out lots of information about writing good stories.
