P2/3 used white wax crayons to colour the penguins tummy. They then used blue food colouring and water spray to see what happened the wax crayon. The wax in the crayons forms a protective layer over the paper penguin so the water can’t get through, much the same as the wax layer on the feathers of a penguin or duck.
