Master Mind Day
On Friday 5th February, the whole school took part in Master Mind Day. Every child donated £1 towards the NPSCC and had a fun day solving maths challenges and completing investigations. Primary Five tried their best to complete a Magic Square, where each row had to add up to 15 and the children were only allowed to use the digits 1-9. Ashlyn completed the square in record time and was our class winner. The class also completed a £100 Word Challenge. For this task, every letter of the alphabet was allocated an amount of money. The children had to find a word that totalled as close to £100 and Madison was the winner, finding a word which amounted to £102! Well done to both Ashlyn and Madison. The children also estimated amounts of goods bought from the Top Tunes Music Store and then checked their accuracy using calculators. The children all tried very hard in each problem solving task and had a great mathematical morning! Well done everyone and thank you for helping to raise money for the NSPCC!
