P4/5 Rio 2016 Poem

P4/5 have been learning about the Olympics. We are very excited for the Olympics to take place this year in Rio, Brazil.

To celebrate the 2016 Olympics we have written a poem. We hope you like it!

Rio 2016

I wonder what 2016 Olympics will be like.

It’s going to be amazing, fantastic, brilliant and bright.

It might be like the carnivals in Rio de Janerio.

“We will hear chanting and shouting,” said Canero.

There will be running, swimming, boxing and rowing.

Athletes from all around the world will be going.

The weather will be warm so it won’t snow.

It’s only 80 days to go!

Christ the redeemer will keep a watchful eye.

If we don’t host the Olympics, it might make Rio cry.

There will be dancing and singing,

When the athletes come out winning.

In Rio you might be able to find a monkey.

Maybe even one that is really funky.

The amazon rainforest is an amazing sight.

If you go in you’ll see animals that bite.

The carnivals in Rio will make your eyes go fizzy.

And your head go dizzy.

In Rio the cars are busy.

It will make you go crazy.

Germany, Hungary, Sweden and France.

But it all began in Ancient Greece.

Brazil will be excited if you come

Although you might not want to go home!
