P5 Celebrate World Book Day

6th Mar 2025

Primary Five had lots of fun today celebrating World Book Day. The children began their day by turning paper plates into their favourite book characters, with the finished results being very impressive. They sat beside a friend for snack and, with their slippers on and beloved teddy bears beside them, they shared their favourite books with their chums whilst eating biscuits and drinking juice. As our class novel is ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,’ the children created their own chocolate bars/sweets that, when eaten, had special effects. The pupils used descriptive writing to help promote their bars/sweets and the ideas they generated were very inventive and creative indeed. We also took part in ‘The Big Live Readathon’ as part of the CBBC nationwide challenge and we participated in their live lesson. In the afternoon we welcomed a special visitor to our classroom: Captain Underpants came to read one of his books to the class! This was a very humorous and entertaining visit and it proved to be the highlight of the day. What a wonderful day we had in P5, celebrating World Book Day!
