Structural Engineering.
14th Nov 2018
P6/7 have been studying earthquakes and the impact they can have on people's lives and their surroundings. Today they used spaghetti and marshmallows to create structures that could withstand shaking. There was an emphasis on creating a secure foundation and ensuring the building was weighted down throughout. The children commented on how delicate the spaghetti was and were reminded just how delicate buildings can be whenever the ground is violently shaking beneath. It was a challenging and thought-provoking activity. The children showed great perseverance and creativity. Well done.
